Noddy Fest

On Saturday 5th September over 600 people and their dogs took part in Noddy Fest, our annual fun dog show.   There were eighteen Ring Classes during the day, including ‘The Most Expressive Eyes’ to ‘Most Fabulous Female or Lad, Best Rescue, Golden Oldie and Pawsome Puppy and ‘Fastest time’ rounds in the Agility Paddock – something for all owners and their dogs to take part in.
The 1st prize winners of the eighteen Ring Classes were eligible to enter free into the final event of 2026 Noddy Fest, ‘Top Dog of the Day’. ‘Barry’, a fifteen-month old handsome bull breed owned by Claire Tyler had won 1st prize for Best Rescue earlier on in the day and went on to win the trophy.
On winning the trophy Claire said: “Everything I do is to advocate for these large bull breeds who
face negative public perception.  I am overwhelmed at Barry winning the trophy and so proud of him.” Barry and his siblings were rescued from a domestic violent environment, hand reared and Claire has had him since he was six-weeks old.  Claire had his DNA tested, he is a mix of Neapolitan Mastiff,  Dogue de Bordeaux, Cane Corsa and Staffordshire Bull Terrier, with no ancestry from any of the banned breeds. Barry has his own Instagram account with 48 thousand followers.
The judges for the ‘Top Dog of the Day’ said: “It was lovely to see the bond between owners, children and their dogs. It was so difficult choosing a winner for Top Dog of the Day, with so many deserving the title. We felt ‘Barry’ highlighted what lovely companion animals large bull breeds can be with investment in training, the right care and love.”
With the support of our sponsors and participants on the day we raised an amazing £10,695, vital funds that will go towards the care of Mount Noddy cats and dogs until we find them their forever homes.
